A phonendoscope is a device designed for almost the same purposes as a stethoscope, but with a more advanced design. The modern phonendoscope appeared thanks to the development of the Russian surgeon N.S. Korotkova.

In the design of this device, designed for auscultation of internal organs, an element such as a membrane that enhances the audibility of sound vibrations was added. With the help of a phonendoscope, it is possible to listen to high sound tones.
